Global Services

Armando Borda and Hussain Rammal (Chairs)

Service sector firms are major contributors to the economic growth and employment in many developed and emerging economies. Despite increasing cross-border activities, the academic literature on global service firms is lagging far behind practice (Kundu & Lahiri, 2015; Rammal & Rose, 2014). In particular, topics such as internationalization of global service firms, servitization of business, knowledge management in service MNEs, and the influence of commitments made by countries under the General Agreement on Trade in Services (GATS) on the movement of professionals and market access for global service firms remain under-researched. Papers using quantitative and qualitative as well as mixed methods are welcome.
